Aziz Ibrahim
East meets west in a sonic showdown
Prodigiously talented guitar player Aziz Ibrahim hails from Manchester’s toughest district, Longsight where he still lives today. Son of a Pakistani mum and dad who moved to the UK in search of a better life, he was told as a young lad ‘you’ll not make any loot, not if you’re playing in a band.’ Fortunately, he didn’t listen and has revelled in a stellar indie career to date. Having played with a host of British bands including Simply Red, Asia, The Christians and the Stone Roses, his skills span many genres. From his formidable DJ sets, expect to hear the best in rock, funk, soul and authentic Asian bhangra beats often performed with live tabla accompaniment.
