Original, eclectic and cool as hell, Tart with a Heart is a rock and roll dominatrix of the decks. Guilty as charged for mixing rock and roll classics, with dirty electro beats, festival indie anthems and throwing in random forgotten gems, she’ll moisten you musical palette till you’re left salivating all over the dancefloor.
Rather than keep to the same old set, like many a DJ do, you’ll never hear her play the same way twice; preferring to mash it right up, maintaining inventive, edgy and seductive mixes with a spine tingling thrill of the unexpected twists.
Having worked and toured with bands over the past decade; and been a regular performer on the festival circuit (and for Ibiza Rocks since it began) Gabby’s a well respected artist with a vast music knowledge, and credits the Infadel DJs and Assassins of Youth (Mystery Jets DJs) as her mentors.
Over the past 2 years she’s also been 1 part of electro duo BLOND AMBITION DJs with London residencies including 93 Feat East (Shoreditch), Barfly, The Lock Tavern and Proud Galleries (Camden), Tooting Tram and Social (Tooting) and the Garage (Highbury and Islington), and done the trendy circuits such as London Fashion Week parties, a Skins / NME warehouse rave, nights for Disorder Magazine, River Island Rocks, Warner Music, Island Records, Lost and Found at The Egg and in the Gaymer’s tent at most of the major UK festivals.
Unable to stick to the one genre of electro (and ignore her passionate love affair of rock and roll any longer), our stylish tart with the very big heart – bursting with tunes – headed back to her home in Ibiza to take up her residency for Ibiza Rocks (and Playboy) and explode these tunes onto the island. Gabby is also the in-house reporter and editor and of the Ibiza Rocks fanzine, writing all the weekly content including interviews with the bands and DJs, music news, backstage gossip and a what’s on in the island, and presented and produced Ibiza Rocks the Radio to over 100,000 listeners every week. Such a unique and colourful character that she is Gabby’s also had a character based on her for a rock and roll novel soon to be published! She has since been made Playboys official ‘Rock the Rabbit DJ’ and is sponsored by Mac make-up..
A TV and Radio broadcaster with credits including Grassroots Gigs (Channel 4), Indie Music TV Around the Globe (Sky), a Rhianna Documentary (worldwide dvd release), It’s not Funny (BBC), The Ultimate Festival Show (www.tufs.co.uk), I’m With the Band (currently in production) and Get Gabby to the Mansion (Playboy) Gabby has a vast contacts book within the industry and counts many high profile bands and artists amongst her personal friends – resulting in many of these supporting her sets and/or joining her on the decks.
Since returning from Ibiza in October Gabby has DJed at Berlin’s legendary rock and roll venue White Trash, hit the fashion pack DJing for Arcadia Group and the Mac pro to pro networking party. She is the main DJ for the Mystery Jets Roundhouse aftershow, and is comparing Jar Music’s International Breakout Festival competition.
